| Insurance kills teen hip hop dreams... | |
| I wanted to start a film school for teenagers called Hip Hop Video School. It would make cameras and MAC computers available to under privileged youth and give the inner city youth a fighting chance at making demo reels as good as the private school students. But insurance killed the whole idea. Nobody would give me business insurance after I stated that students could take the cameras and computers off site. How else would they make a movie? What can I do to get around this? Posted by RobCampbell on 2009/05/04 09:05:09 This situation is complex. The truth is different insurance companies have different underwriting guidelines. While taking the cameras offsite may be a risk concern for some insurance companies, it might not be a concern for others.
The key is to look around and find out who the specialty insurers are for your industry and start there. Unfortunately, there really aren't any easy answers for you other than to keep shopping around.
Good luck!
