Hello, Will tenant insurance cover hotel costs if a tenant needs to move out because of a fire or flood? Posted by Guest on 2009/06/19 14:34:32 Reply Under every tenant insurance policy there is a coverage called "Additional Living Expenses." This will cover the tenant's hotel costs, or other additional costs incurred as a result of a loss which is covered under your policy. However, to address your question, while fire is definitely covered, flooding is not covered under most insurance policies so a tenant might not receive funds in that situation. As all companies are different, the amount of coverage and what is covered will vary from company to company. Sean Graham, Principal Broker at KTX Insurance Brokers.
