Do auto insurance policies cover drivers while on holiday in the USA?

Auto insurance policies in Canada do cover drivers while on vacation in the U.S., up to certain time limits which may vary by insurer. Holidays lasting 6 months of the year or more, such as Canadian Snowbirds travelling south, usually require special insurance to cover them. Otherwise, vacations are covered in the U.S.
