How many companies offer auto insurance in Ontario?

According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada website, there are over 140 auto insurance companies in Ontario. You can find this information at: http://www.ibc.ca/en/Car_Insurance/ON/

Within the same section of the IBC website we also found the following numbers for other Canadian provinces:

Alberta: There are over 70 auto insurance providers
New Brunswick: There 65 plus car insurance providers
Newfoundland and Labrador: There are about 50
Nova Scotia: About 60
PEI: About 50
