| What is the best way to handle a complaint regarding an insurance claim? | |
| I recently filed an insurance claim in Ontario . I do not think I received a fair deal. What is the best way to file a complaint if I think my situation was unfairly handled? If you've already approached the insurance company with which you have a complaint, and you still feel your situation has not been resolved, then you may want to consider involving a third party; the Ombuds Service. The Financial Services Commission of Ontario is the best site to go to for information on filing a complaint about your insurance claim. The site features tips and guidleines on filing and resolving a complaint, as well as a link of Ombuds services which should be helpful if you've come to that point in resolving your dispute.
