If someone has an accident on our dock, would our homeowners insurance cover us?

My husband and I are looking at houses up for sale and we have fallen in love with a lakefront property. We are wondering if someone comes on the property and happens to have an accident on our dock, if it's something that our insurance would cover? This is a big concern for us if we buy the property. Please let us know.

It would all depend on the type of accident but, yes, generally accidents which result in law suits or liability claims would be covered under a homeowners insurance policy.
