If you are trying to research whether making these changes is worth it, I suspect you¿ll find that how much your premium changes, if it does at all, will vary considerably between insurer. Posted by admin on 2010/02/26 10:04:01 Insurance rates are based on factory stock vehicles. Anytime modifications are made your insurer must know about them and generally will charge additional premium for any modifications over $1500.
Many insurance companies have rules stating they will not insure vehicles which have been modified from stock in order to enhance performance. Modifying vehicle performance, such as what you are inquiring about, could even put you into a high risk category making it difficult to obtain affordable insurance.
