The insurance company wants scientific proof before they compensate us for a full clean up.

Question for you:

We had a small house fire in Dec 2009, minor damage. No injuries

The insurance company paid for duct cleaning and minor clean up.

In June, when we turned on the central Air Conditioning, the house became very dusty and we became very itchy.

We think we have identified the powder coming out of the ducts as ABC dry chem.

The fire department agrees with us but they cannot put this in writing.

This stuff is stuck to everything we own.

The insurance company wants scientific proof before they compensate us for a full clean up.

How would I go about doing this?

We have cleaned the ducts again several times this summer but the stuff is already all over the house

We have contacted the manufacturer and they are not sure what to do.

I have contacted several forensic labs in Toronto. They also said they could not test for this.

We have been living in hotels and the cottage.

Thanks,

Andrew
