Are there any insurance policies that cover childbirth?

I am a permanant resident in Canada but I haven't got yet the health card. Is there any insurance policy that I can buy that covers childbirth? I am not sure I will get the health card before delivery.

You might want to apply for visitors to Canada insurance, however, please be aware that travel insurance does not cover pregnancy past the 32nd week.
