| Are gas prices driving you to a smaller car or hybrid | |
| With gas prices giving drivers daily headaches, some drivers have traded their vehicle for a hybrid or have downsized to a smaller car from a larger one. Some insurance companies offer discounts for drivers who drive hybrids while some provinces offer rebates. What are your preferences? Are you considering downsizing your car or switching to a hybrid? Posted by admin on 2011/06/03 15:20:11 I was driving a larger car with a bigger engine, but now I've decided to downgrade to something smaller in an effort to save on gas! When will the government step in to address this problem?!?!?! And yes I think the whole hybrid thing is a sham! Posted by AngryDriver on 2011/06/06 08:56:45 I've decided to switch to a smaller car to save on gas. I used to spend $90 per week for gas - now I'm down to $60 per week. Posted by taddy on 2011/06/09 08:41:26 I give up my Tims to pay for gas , not giving up my SUV. Posted by Udonis on 2011/06/14 23:02:23 Nasty - I guess in our case we have no choice but to bite the bullet and economize somewhere else. As seniors on fixed incomes we can't afford to change cars to one with better gas mileage. Have sold our second car and the remaining mid size one (a 2004 Nissan Maxima) gets 23 MPG, and our home of 40+ years is in a rural area with NO transportation. So - we consolidate all trips to town which is 20 miles away into once weekly, don't go anywhere that we don't absolutely have to and hope that the powers that be eventually see the light and change things. Our only permanent solution is to sell our home and move into town which we may be forced into doing if things continue on like this. Keep trying... Posted by ThelmaBGraham on 2011/07/15 20:56:26 |
