| Getting insured after lapse | |
| I am trying to buy a auto insurance policy after a lapse period during which my plate stickers were active. I had stopped using my car for several years due to health and financial issues. I did not anticipate the length of these issues and had kept the stickers active with the hopes of returning to work/university sooner.
Now that I can afford to drive it again and to go school, they will not allow me to buy a policy. I told them I will put the new stickers on first but since my old stickers were active I am now being declined. I really need some help or advice, I do not know what to do and I only have a week until my birthday.
Thanks in advance.

If you've had a lapse in insurance for a number of years it may effect your insurance pricing but not your eligibility. Once you have your policy set up you will have to make sure you register your vehicle immediately and get new plate stickers. If you are having an issue getting insurance from your insurer because of your plate stickers, you might want to find another insurer.

Different companies have different policies, you can ask them. I think you will be able to get your auto insurance policy. Posted by matthew111 on 2011/08/25 05:04:32 |
