I just graduated from G2 to G today and I called my insurance provider. I was told that my G won't get a discount until the next renewal period? IS IT TRUE? Why is it so unfair?

It really depends on the insurance company you're with. Some companies give a Graduated Licensing Discount once you've obtained your full G license. Others will allow a mid-term policy change to reflect your new license status and will bump up your driving record accordingly. Others will do neither and let you reap the benefits on your renewal. It's best to contact your broker or agent to discuss with them to make sure you're taking full advantage. If your insurer won't give you the discount right away you can always compare pricing elsewhere.
