| Insurance after 6 years | |
| I sold my car back in 2006. And I've been driving rentals, taking the bus since then.
I need a car now and kanetix.ca and belair seem to think it's risky to insure me because I haven't had insurance for six years.
I had no accidents or claims when I was insured, and I had no accidents with the rentals.
I am a very good, cautious driver with lots of experience but "no insurance in the past six months"
There is no way I can afford $250 a month. Is there a way to get around this? I'm over 25. Thank you! Posted by on 2012/01/30 08:26:25 Hi,
Insurers reward drivers for having insurance in place while having no claims. If you have had ratable gaps in insurance over the years then you will not receive the best prices. My advice would be to start up an insurance policy and keep it going in order to build up your claims free driving history. You will see your rating get better over time and your premiums will decrease.
