Traffic ticket in borrowed car

Question

If I borrow a friend's car and get a moving violation (speeding ticket, phone operation, etc.), will my friend's insurance go up? Or will the tickets go strictly against my license? Friend's car is fully insured and I have insurance on my own vehicle too (which I wasn't driving at the time; hence friend's car).

Thanks in advance.

Good question. No, your friend's insurance will no go up but yours may go up. All driving convictions stay on your record and will only effect you, regardless of which vehicle you are driving. The opposite goes for accidents which generally effect the vehicle which is being driven.
