I seem to have a catch 22 situation. I have bought a bike in Ontario. I need to license and insure it in order to go touring in North America. I have a UK license and IDL that includes motorcycles. If I exchange for an Ontario license, the motorcycle validation disappears so I need to keep my current license - (I will only be in Ontario for a short time anyway.) Can I get insurance so I can register and license my bike? From whom? If not, could I circumvent the system by having my sister - an Ontario resident - insure the bike and name me as the principle rider with my valid non- Ontario license?

As this is a complex situation, we recommend you contact a licensed broker to discuss the situation in greater detail.
