I am looking for a company that will insure my cottage in Ontario. I live in Calgary, and will be going to Ontario in the winter for about 3-4 weeks. Can you help???

If you're renting in Calgary and currently have tenants insurance you can ask your current insurer if they will add your cottage as a secondary or seasonal location on your current policy. Not all insurers operate across Canada but those that do may be able to accommodate you.
If you currently have no insurance in place, or my first suggestion is not an option for you, you should look into getting insurance from a specialty wholesaler. A Google search under 'specialty wholesale insurance' came up with several companies which should be able to help you.

What type of insurance will it be? General Insurance or what?

Technically, you would be looking for Seasonal Dwelling insurance.
