Those looking for a summer getaway may be pleased with the recent announcement of the Canadian Tourism Commission that aims to increase tourism activity in the province of Alberta.
At a recent ceremony held in Banff, Minister of State Maxime Bernier announced what activities the CTC will focus its marketing campaign on to encourage travel to Alberta and improve Canada's tourism industry at large.
The list of experiences the CTC will advertise includes horseback riding, rock climbing, skiing and journeys on historic railways.
"This represents a significant opportunity to showcase our destination in markets around the world," said Julie Canning, president and CEO of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. "From glaciers to tea houses, horseback riding to white-water rafting, heli-hiking to wildlife viewing … Banff National Park truly offers unlimited signature experiences, every season of the year."
Those heading out of the province or out of the country should review their travel insurance options. A standard travel insurance policy may include coverage for a variety of circumstances, such as emergency medical assistance, accidental death, and trip cancellation protection.
